About The Role
As a Site Manager you will be working on our SHDF retrofit programme within the social housing background, providing a stable and profitable contract, delivering excellent service and support through our local teams who understand the importance of working together for the local community. You will support high‑standard Site Management activities for Planned Works Programmes to housing properties, delivering best‑in‑class customer service and satisfying all safety, quality, and cost control standards.
Responsibilities
* Manage the day‑to‑day operational delivery of planned works or contract and all associated staff, ensuring contractual KPI targets are achieved and maintained.
* Manage internal and external works including wall cavity insulation, new windows, doors, storage heaters and roofing, with scaffolding within properties, tower blocks and at heights.
* Monitor work programme progression and completion through ongoing site visits to ensure works are adequately resourced, delivered to the set quality standard, completed on time and within budget.
* Manage employees and sub‑contractors, ensuring compliance with H&S regulations, Mears standard operating procedures and values, quality assurance accreditations, CDM and the company’s commitment to best practice with legislation and codes of conduct.
* Carry out onsite inspections, investigations, enquiries, prepare reports and offer solutions to maintain continuous improvement.
* Liaise with Design Teams, Client Representatives and Consultants.
* Provide employee performance management, ensuring HR policies and procedures are followed.
* Ensure the customer experience is central by adopting a professional manner in all communications, appearance, company ID and maintaining high safety standards.
* Follow and support policies, procedures, initiatives and work instructions at all times, keep company assets in good condition, and report any damages to your manager.
* Undertake any other duties as required, support site managers to cover absences and attend informal and formal company & client meetings and training sessions.
Key Criteria
* SMSTS qualified.
* Strong knowledge of PAS 2035 domestic retrofit requirements.
* Proven experience in External and/or Cavity Wall Insulation (EWI/CWI).
* Asbestos Awareness trained.
* First Aid at Work certified.
* Demonstrable experience working on social housing refurbishment projects.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Experience working at height, including scaffolding inspection.
* Sound knowledge of housing improvement measured‑term contracts and Schedules of Rates.
* Proven ability to manage, monitor, record and report on Health & Safety and compliance.
* Experience managing and coordinating sub‑contractors.
* Strong Health & Safety knowledge, including COSHH.
* Customer‑focused with a commitment to delivering a high‑quality service.
* A proactive problem‑solver with a results‑driven approach.
* Confident negotiator with the ability to influence key stakeholders.
* IT literate, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Thorough understanding of CDM regulations and requirements.
