Site Manager – Groundworks & Externals | Major Education Development | Cardiff
Are you an experienced Site Manager with a proven track record delivering groundworks and external packages on large-scale construction projects? Sphere Solutions is supporting a leading Tier 1 contractor in the search for a skilled professional to help deliver a landmark £100m education scheme located near Cardiff.
This is a rare opportunity to join an exciting project from day one, playing a key role in shaping the success of a 2.5-year programme. You’ll be a core member of a highly experienced project team, overseeing all groundworks and externals activities to ensure quality, safety, and programme targets are consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage all groundworks and external works on a major new-build education project
*
Coordinate subcontractors and ensure works are delivered to programme, quality standards and H&S requirements
*
Work closely with project and commercial teams to maintain smooth project delivery
*
Take responsibility for site logistics, sequencing and daily site operations
*
Act as a key point of contact for stakeholders, driving strong communication and collaborative working
Requirements
*
Demonstrable experience managing similar groundworks/external packages on large-scale construction projects
*
Strong leadership, coordination and problem-solving skills
*
Thorough understanding of construction sequencing, site safety and quality management
*
Based locally to Cardiff or within a commutable distance
*
Ability to commit to a long-term project (2.5 years) and contribute from inception through to completion
