An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to join a forward-thinking engineering and manufacturing business. Therole is critical in driving quality excellence, ensuring compliance, and supporting continued innovation in a rapidly evolving industry.
Reporting to senior leadership, you will take full ownership of the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001:2015 standards. You will lead Quality Assurance activities across the Alternative Fuel (AF) division, ensuring that all processes and products meet both customer and regulatory expectations.
You will also act as the key point of contact for all quality-related matters, including customer interactions, audits, and regulatory engagement.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949
* Lead and manage the PPAP process, including control plans, DFMEA, and PFMEA
* Oversee and develop a team of Quality Engineers and Inspectors
* Conduct and manage internal and external audits
* Act as the primary Quality representative for customers, regulatory bodies, and third-party auditors
* Analyse quality trends and implement corrective and preventive actions using structured problem-solving tools (e.g. 8D)
* Deliver training and development to QA staff to ensure capability and coverage
* Provide technical support to customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders through reports, presentations, and documentation
* Promote a strong quality culture across the wider business
* Support and contribute to Health & Safety initiatives
About You
* Proven experience in a Quality Assurance leadership role within manufacturing or engineering
* Strong working knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001:2015
* Hands-on experience with PPAP, FMEA, and core quality tools
* Experience managing audits (internal, external, and customer)
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
* Strong leadership and team development capability
* Confident communicator with experience dealing with customers and external stakeholders
* Flexible and adaptable, with a proactive approach
