At the University of York, we are building critical capabilities in data governance, engineering, and DataOps and seek a skilled Data Architect to join us at this foundational stage to drive key IT transformations. The Opportunity: This vital role will see you shape the University's data landscape. Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining the data architecture catalogue, creating data models and dictionaries, and contributing significantly to the design of our future data warehouse and common data model. The focus will be on cloud-based projects utilising Snowflake, alongside integrating existing data sources. You will work within collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams, partnering with data engineers, analysts, and other IT professionals to ensure robust data management across the institution. Proven ability to create and clearly explain data models. Understanding and application of industry-recognised data modelling standards. Skilled in communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience contributing to the development of data governance. Track record of leading initiatives or projects. Competence in complex data analysis and reporting. Proficiency with standard office and digital tools.
