Responsibilities
1. Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific Quality Management Plans.
2. Ensure compliance with Network Rail standards, industry regulations, and contractual requirements.
3. Carry out inspections, audits, and surveillance to verify compliance with specifications.
4. Lead investigations into non-conformances and implement robust corrective actions.
5. Provide quality-related support and guidance to project teams and subcontractors.
6. Manage documentation control processes for quality records and certifications.
7. Liaise with clients, suppliers, and third parties on all quality matters.
The Quality Manager must have experience working client-side and on large-scale rail and civils projects.
Essential for the Quality Manager
* Proven track record as a Quality Manager (or Senior Quality Engineer) in the rail sector.
* Strong civils experience (structures, earthworks, drainage, foundations, trackside works, infrastructure, stations, heavy civils).
* Excellent knowledge of Network Rail standards.
* IRCA Lead Auditor qualification or equivalent.
* PTS certification.
This will be a long-term freelance role, initially 6-12 months, paying £500 per day Inside IR35. The start date is before the end of September, with notices to be considered. The role is predominantly site-based.
