As a Cook, you will ensure that a high-quality, customer-focused catering service is delivered to all customers in the establishment. In addition to providing daily service, you will be involved in theme days and events to promote and develop the service.
* The main purpose of this role is to plan, prepare, cook, and present up to 25 meals at breakfast, lunch, and dinner times. Meals must be presented to high standards and deadlines met.
* You will work cooperatively with the service to ensure customer satisfaction, actively seeking feedback from service users for menu planning and meeting individual needs.
* You must remain friendly and helpful, dealing with complaints appropriately.
* You will contribute to legislative, financial, and audit processes within the kitchen, including developing financial targets such as food costs, hours worked, and budgets for equipment and cleaning materials.
Overview of Post - additional duties include:
* Preparing and producing up to 75 meals throughout the day to agreed standards.
* Working cooperatively with your team to achieve objectives.
* Ensuring timely and appropriate service for customers.
* Managing workload effectively to meet performance levels.
* Delivering services to standards through effective use of materials.
* Suggesting ideas for service improvement and supporting change initiatives.
* Communicating effectively to foster good relationships with colleagues and service users.
* Demonstrating purpose, direction, and approach to achieve organizational objectives.
* Holding a Level 2 Food Safety Certificate.
* Possessing GCSE Grades D-G or Functional Skills Level 1 in Maths & English.
* Willingness to undertake relevant training to stay updated.
* Experience in food ordering and budgeting.
* Menu planning experience.
* Experience supervising staff.
* Ability to read and record information.
