This is a rare opportunity to own and define the enterprise-wide data architecture for a truly large-scale organisation, shaping how data is governed, structured and leveraged for years to come.
The Opportunity
As the Enterprise Data Architect, you’ll be the strategic lead for data architecture across the business — setting vision, standards and direction, while still remaining hands‑on with modelling and solution design.
You’ll work at the intersection of technology, business and engineering, ensuring that data is high‑quality, trusted, secure and accessible across the enterprise. Your influence will directly support major transformation programmes and the organisation’s journey towards becoming fully data‑driven.
This is the ideal role for someone who wants to build and own an enterprise data function with real breadth, visibility and impact.
Key Responsibilities
* Define and deliver the Enterprise Data Strategy and Roadmap, aligned to business goals
* Own and evolve the Enterprise Data Model, driving consistency and standardisation
* Design modern, scalable architectures including data lakes, warehouses, real‑time and streaming platforms
* Lead frameworks for data governance, MDM, metadata, lineage, quality, security and retention
* Chair enterprise data forums, ensuring alignment across programmes and technology teams
* Provide architectural leadership, assurance and direction across major transformation initiatives
* Act as the organisation’s senior data authority, influencing decision‑makers and shaping best practice
About You

We’re looking for someone with:
* Significant experience as an Enterprise Data Architect in a complex or regulated environment
* Strong expertise in data modelling, integration, ETL and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP)
* Deep knowledge of governance, MDM, metadata management and regulatory frameworks
* Experience implementing enterprise catalogues (e.g. Collibra, Informatica, Atlan)
* Familiarity with modern data architectures (Medallion, Data Mesh, Lambda etc.)
* Strong understanding of streaming and processing tools (e.g. Kafka, Spark)
* Ability to influence senior stakeholders and confidently lead governance forums
* Experience with operational or customer‑facing environments is beneficial
