Event Engineering are a Loughborough based live events company working for global brands on custom build projects.
We are seeking a Design Developer to join our growing Design and Build team to lead on bespoke build projects. Turning our clients concepts and ideas into real life sets, exhibition stands, and custom units. With no two events the same, each project brings new challenges to solve.

What will you do as a Design Developer?
● Starting with project briefings and client renders, you’ll get to grips with the goals and intended usage of the design items
● Help scope solutions and decide how best to build the stands, taking into account timescales, budgets, manufacturing techniques, materials and finishes
● Create 2D and 3D drawings for client approval
● Adjust designs as the projects develop and change
● Produce cutting lists, machining data, working drawings and picking lists for use by the build team and any external suppliers
● Specify, quantify and order materials and commission external specialist suppliers as needed e.g. metal working and glass

We’re looking for someone with:
● A high level of attention to detail and excellent problem solving skills
● Be well versed in the use of 3D part modelling software (Inventor, Solidworks etc). Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD is desirable
● The ability to tailor a design for manufacture and previous experience of being responsible for taking a project from concept to manufacture
● Experience/knowledge of Joinery manufacture and finishing techniques, as well as broad experience with other materials e.g. metal, acrylic and print
● Strong business acumen and commercial awareness
● Relevant experience in events, exhibitions or temporary installations is strongly desired
We run a 40 hour week Monday - Friday, however, given the nature of the events industry the flexibility to work outside of these hours will sometimes be required. You must be able to commute to our premises in Loughborough where this role is based.
