Job Description
Our client is seeking an Employment Lawyer to join their Christchurch-based team. The department advises both individuals and businesses on a full spectrum of contentious and non-contentious employment matters. The work includes drafting key documentation, handling Employment Tribunal claims, advising on settlement discussions, supporting corporate transactions (including buy-outs and TUPE transfers), and providing ongoing advice to established commercial clients.
The ideal candidate will:

Communicate in a clear, approachable manner without unnecessary jargon
Deliver practical, commercially focused advice
Work collaboratively across departments

Remain calm and effective under pressure
Take ownership of their work and maintain proactive client contact
Essential experience and skills:
Qualified Solicitor or FCILEx (NQ with 2–4 years’ PQE)
Solid grounding in employment law
Strong networking and business development ability
Clear and persuasive written and verbal communication skills
Effective negotiation and influencing capability
Self-motivated with good time and file management skills
Adaptable, proactive and commercially aware
Able to identify cross-referral opportunities and work closely with colleagues
Desirable attributes:
Strong organisational skills
Experience managing a varied caseload independently
Confidence in promoting services and generating new business
Comfortable delivering presentations and contributing to marketing initiatives
Salary:
