Role Definition:
An Interim HR Manager (Maternity Cover) is required to deliver full generalist HR service with two direct reports across the site of a site of approx. 300 colleagues. The HR Manager will partner with the senior management team to support business objectives and implement the HR strategy with functional support from the UK HR Director and central HR team.
HR Manager:
* Manage the recruitment, retention & succession process.
* Coordinate performance management.
* Drive employee engagement.
* Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, and opportunities for promotion and employee benefits.
* Perform difficult staffing duties, including dealing with understaffing and administering disciplinary procedures.
* Advise managers on organisational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity recommend needed changes.
* Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering contracts and helping resolve work-related problems.
* Accurate and timely weekly HR reports, as well as any ad hoc reports.
* Ensure compliance & best practice on all legislative matters.
* Coordinate all HR administration.
* Collate HR metrics on a weekly basis.
* Provide timely advice, coaching and support to line managers on all HR related issues. Including disciplinary matters up to and including ET applications, grievances, flexible working applications, performance management, restructuring, absence management, etc.
* Take a lead role in all aspects of recruitment and selection processes, including attendance at interviews and correspondence with applicants or their representatives.
* Liaise with external labour providers to ensure their compliance with current legislation, co-ordinating with on-site co-ordinators where applicable.
* Contribute to the improvement of local and Group strategies, policies and procedures; support and promote the implementation of existing strategies, policies and procedures.
* Take responsibility for all aspects of personnel records manual and electronic, ensuring compliance with both legal and auditing requirements as well as providing management information as and when required on key compliance in areas such as the Working Time Directive and Agency Labour Providers.
* Take responsibility for Ethical Audits including the administration and management of the SEDEX audit portal.
* Work with line managers to reduce short term absences; work with the Health and Safety Manager and the OH provider to effectively manage and reduce long term absence.
* Be the first point of contact for all related HR issues.
* Provide accurate employee data to include turnover reports, KPI information and data.
* Support training officer with booking of courses and compiling data.
* Support the Training officer with training & development function including training needs analysis, course design & delivery.
* Drive the Group Modern Slavery strategy on site including ensuring compliance checks are completed, worker interviews are conducted and raising awareness within the team.
