Permanent part-time (20-25hrs/week Monday-Thursday) based at our Head Office in Holywell, near Chester.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced operational HR Manager, reporting directly to and working closely with, the Managing Director and the Senior Management Team. This role is a sole-charge HR management opportunity for an SME manufacturing business that is experiencing a period of significant international growth.
You will need to be comfortable undertaking a range of administrative tasks, whilst also helping formulate our people strategy. Liaising closely with our external business partners, you will have overall responsibility for the full HR lifecycle including: Employee Relations and Engagement, HR Systems and Compliance, Talent Recruitment, Management & Development and providing advice on our People Strategy and Leadership.
Key Accountabilities
* Focusing on supporting the Senior Management Team in all aspects of Human Resources
* Driving best employee practice across the organisation.
* Ensuring that our policies & procedures comply with current & future Employment Legislation and supporting line management as required in their effective implementation
* Building effective relationships with colleagues across all levels and providing advice and guidance on the full range of HR matters, from initial understanding to alignment and resolution
* Supporting current and future business needs through the appointment, engagement, motivation, development and retention of our employee talent
* Championing a performance culture and continually reviewing productivity and employee development, whilst recommending improvements and supporting implementation as required
* Providing counsel and professional resolution of the more complex employee relations issues
* Facilitating the Personal Development Review (appraisal) process
* Investigating and securing relevant employee-related funding and grant opportunities
* Effective management of the Kelio (Employee Records and Time Management/Payroll) database
* Managing the administration of the various elements of the Employee Benefits Package
* Liaising with our Occupational Health providers as and when necessary
* Maintaining accurate HR and Training records and evaluating their effectiveness
* Maintaining relations and managing negotiations with the Union as and when required
* Managing the recruitment agency process for both temporary and permanent staffing requirements
Candidate Specification
* Experience in a senior HR operational role, ideally within a manufacturing environment
* Ideally degree qualified with a minimum Level 5 CIPD qualification
* A self-starter with a positive can-do attitude and a desire to take ownership of the HR function
* A diligent individual who can cultivate talent, lead HR initiatives and contribute at a strategic level
* Highly organised, with the ability to multi-task and prioritise with ease
* Experience of, and absolute discretion when handling, matters of a confidential nature
* Ability to build relationships quickly and credibly with a wide range of stakeholders
* Proactive, with exemplary communication skills and excellent attention to detail
* Solid IT skills, including advanced Microsoft Office capability
* Experience of the measurement, recording, analysis and actions relating to standard HR metrics
* Comprehensive knowledge of existing and currently proposed Employment Legislation
