Working Hours: 7:00 AM – 2:00 PM (Monday to Friday, term time only)
Salary: GBP15.00 per hour
Responsibilities
* Plan, prepare, and cook a variety of fresh meals in line with school menus and dietary requirements.
* Ensure all food preparation, handling, and storage adheres to strict food safety and hygiene standards.
* Manage stock control, including ordering, receiving, and rotating food supplies.
* Supervise and work effectively with kitchen staff to deliver a high-quality, efficient service.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment at all times.
* Ensure all meals are prepared and ready for service at the scheduled time.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Cook or Chef in a professional catering environment (e.g., school, care home, or restaurant).
* A valid Enhanced DBS check is essential (or the willingness for one).
* A Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene Certificate is required.
* Excellent knowledge of food allergens and dietary requirements.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
