Overview

Community Academies Trust (CAT) is seeking a Human Resources Officer to join our forward-thinking central HR team. Based at our head office in Tamworth, this is a fantastic opportunity to work across a diverse and growing multi academy trust, supporting schools and leaders to deliver outstanding outcomes for pupils.


Location and Details

Location: Dimbleby House, Tamworth

Salary: £36,363 – £39,152 (Scale J, Points 25–28)

Working Pattern: Whole year, Hybrid (Central Office, Home, and School Visits)

Contract Type: Full-time

Disclosure Level: Enhanced DBS


Responsibilities

* Provide expert HR advice to senior leaders across our schools.
* Lead on employee relations, casework, and organisational change.
* Drive recruitment campaigns and workforce planning.
* Support strategic initiatives in wellbeing, EDI, pay & grading, and talent development.
* Ensure compliance with safer recruitment and Single Central Record (SCR) standards.
* Deliver impactful training and contribute to policy development.


Qualifications

* CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience — or a willingness to work towards it (we’ll support you!)
* Proven HR advisory experience, ideally in a regulated environment.
* Strong knowledge of employment law and best practice.
* Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
* A proactive, solution focused mindset with a passion for people.
