Due to organisational growth and investment in the team, an opportunity has arisen for an HR Manager to join a law firm accredited as an Investors in People Silver employer and recently voted one of the best places to work in Cornwall. Partnering directly with the CPO, you will be instrumental in the effective delivery all elements of the HR function and responsible for management and delivery of all HR elements of the employee lifecycle. This role will be attractive to experienced HR Advisors ready to take responsibility in a wider capacity or for an experienced HR Manager who is ready for a new challenge with a great employer. You will be will directly contributing to maintaining our positive and inclusive working environment for over 180 staff across eight offices. It's an exciting time to join with the opportunity to help shape delivery of HR at a time of unprecedented growth. What you will do: Essentially you will be responsible for ensuring that the day to day HR function of the business operates effectively and in line with our vision and values. More specifically you will: Ensure all elements of the employee lifecycle are appropriately managed and documented Advise managers and staff in all employee relations matters, acting with discretion and sensitivity, you will ensure the advice given is in line with current employment law Line manage the HR team (HR Assistant and HR Administrator) Identify opportunities and implement improvements to the employee experience and people processes Support the CPO with wider strategic projects as appropriate What you need: CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience 3 years in an HR generalist role at Advisor (or similar) level Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong understanding of UK employment law, HR policies, and procedures Capability to utilise systems such as SharePoint, Copilot, HRIS and ATS to good effect A flexible approach to competing priorities and demands High level of attention to detail and record keeping Drivers licence and the ability to travel to any office required You will love this role if: You enjoy working autonomously can effectively manage your own caseload and support the team with theirs You like to work in a professional setting with high performing and ambitious individuals You enjoy reviewing and improving processes to make work a better place for all You build effective relationships at all levels of the organisation You will be a success if: You genuinely care about the employee and manager experience You align with our organisational values of fairness, integrity and team work You have a hunger to regularly review and improve how things are done About us Coodes have been advising businesses, families and individuals in the South West on the issues that shape their lives and futures for more than 275 years. As part of this role you will be expected to attend any of our offices as required. (travel expenses paid). Hours: This is a full time position 35 hours a week. Monday to Friday 9-5 (we can accommodate some flexibility with regard to start and finish times).
