Hays are representing a large public sector organisation who have four sites in Northern Ireland whichprises a number of buildings ranging in ages and design including administration buildings, lecture theatres, sports halls, laboratories and libraries, as well as an expansive outdoor landscape incorporating sports pitches and car parking. They are seeking a qualified Mechanical Building Services Engineer to oversee mechanical small works projects up to the value of £1m.
Your new role
This is a temporary contract job for a period, with a large public sector organisation. As the Mechanical Project Officer, you will be responsible for the execution of site improvement focused works, mainly focused on the delivery of customer Minor Improvement and the smaller, lessplex operational and maintenance works, which may include building, mechanical, electrical (or abination).
You will be required to design mechanical services upgrades, create specifications and AutoCAD tender drawings, manage the tender and procurement process, appoint contractors, manage the contract administration and documentation, then project manage on-site contractors to ensure works arepleted to specification, quality and within timeframe.
What you'll need to succeed
Educated to degree level in a subject with a substantial content of mechanical engineering theory.OREducated to degree level in a subject relevant to the post and qualified to HNC/D level in a subject with a substantial content of mechanical engineering theoryAND
A minimum of 2 years' work experience in small to medium-sized estate building services related projects focused on operation and maintenance/refurbishment improvements.This experience to include: Design development /preparation of technical specifications/tendering processes, liaison with internal stakeholders or client bodies.Management of contractors.Management of project cost and quality standardsTransition planning & management, andmissioning & handover ofpleted projects to point of occupation and post project review
