We are hiring an HR Officer for a manufacturing business in Rochdale. The position is permanent and offers a salary of £30,000 - £40,000 per annum plus bonus.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Compliance and Reporting – ensuring compliance with pensions auto‑enrolment.
* HR Administration – maintaining employee records, updating the employee handbook, managing holiday/absence tracking, supporting recruitment, leaver and disciplinary processes, moving HR records from hard copy to digital format where appropriate, improving processes, and managing these records to achieve compliance with statutory requirements.
* Training and Development – implementing employee training tracker and monitoring completion of staff reviews.
* Employee Support – acting as first point of contact for staff queries regarding benefits and HR policies.
* System Management – taking an active role in developing and utilising the Time & Attendance system as a key business tool.
* Future opportunity to manage payroll processing – calculating and processing monthly payroll, including overtime, bonuses and any deductions.
* Future opportunity to manage payroll compliance and reporting – ensuring compliance with tax (PAYE), national insurance, and statutory payments (for example SSP, SMP).
* Other elements may be identified in support of the business.
Skills and Qualifications
* CIPD Level 3 HR or equivalent, or willingness to take an appropriate qualification.
* Knowledge of GDPR requirements.
* 2-5 years previous experience preferable, working in an HR environment within an industrial business.
* Previous experience using Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and Word.
* High level of discretion regarding confidential data, strong communication skills and attention to detail.
* Additional training/qualifications as identified.
