Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled General Handyman/woman to maintain and improve our facility. The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of technical skills, including electrical, mechanical, welding, and facilities maintenance, to ensure the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of our care home. This role offers an opportunity to contribute directly to the comfort and safety of our residents through proactive maintenance and repairs.
Responsibilities
* Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance across all areas of the facility to identify potential issues early.
* Conduct repairs involving electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical equipment with precision and adherence to safety standards.
* Carry out residential painting projects to maintain the aesthetic quality of the building interior and exterior.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations during all maintenance activities.
Requirements
* Proven experience in facilities maintenance or related roles within residential or commercial settings.
* Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience.
* Skilled in welding techniques and reading schematics for complex systems repair.
* Ability to perform residential painting tasks with attention to detail.
* Demonstrating leadership in team or project management roles.
* Excellent communication skills in English for clear reporting and collaboration with staff members.
Pay rate: £13
Hours: 10am to 2pm (Monday to Friday)
Contract: 20hours per week
