We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Head of Estates to lead and develop our Estates function, ensuring our built environment, infrastructure and services fully support the Trust’s corporate objectives and the needs of our patients and services.
This is a senior, influential role with responsibility for operational leadership, compliance, and the delivery of high-quality, safe and sustainable Estates services across the Trust.
Main duties of the job
As Head of Estates, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to the Estates team, offering expert advice on technical and compliance matters across the Trust’s estate. You will ensure full compliance with all relevant Statutory Legislation, Health Technical Memorandums (HTMs) and Codes of Practice, while continuously improving the safety, efficiency and sustainability of our facilities.
You will act as the Trust’s Senior Operational Manager for Engineering and Estates (EME) services and will have the competence and authority to line-manage Authorised Persons in accordance with HTM-00.

You will also lead on specialist Estates matters, interpreting legislative and regulatory requirements and translating them into effective, workable solutions for the organisation.

About you
You will be a confident senior Estates professional with a strong background in complex estates environments, able to balance strategic vision with hands‑on operational leadership. You will have proven experience of managing multidisciplinary teams, ensuring statutory compliance, and driving continuous improvement across Estates services.
