We are seeking a highly organised, empathetic, and proactive HR Officer to support the full spectrum of HR operations at our leading independent school. About The Role As our HR Officer, you’ll be responsible for: Managing end-to-end recruitment processes in line with Safer Recruitment practices. Maintaining accurate personnel records and HR databases. Supporting payroll administration and liaising with Finance. Advising on HR matters including disciplinaries, grievances, and performance. Ensuring compliance with employment legislation and school standards. Supporting staff development and professional training. This is a full-time, year-round role (37.5 hours/week) with flexibility around start and finish times. Hybrid working may be considered, though most work will be on-site due to the confidential nature of the role. Essential What We’re Looking For Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail and high-level literacy and numeracy. Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines. IT proficiency and willingness to learn new systems. Commitment to safeguarding and supporting staff and pupils. Desirable HR experience in an educational setting. CIPD Level 3 or higher. Knowledge of employment law, GDPR, and Independent School Standards. What We Offer Salary: £30,000–£36,000, depending on experience. 30 days annual leave (plus Bank Holidays), taken outside of term time. Scottish Widows pension scheme with 6% employer contribution. 50% fee remission for children attending the School (subject to eligibility).
