Job Description
Manage and control the activities on site to successfully complete the project within budget, to the stipulated quality standards, within the contract period, and to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction, ensuring that the highest standards of Health and Safety are maintained at all times. Having experience in the delivery of SHDF works and understanding the process of the retrofit process is essential.
Specific Responsibilities
1. Accountable for all daily operational activity and the management of operatives and sub-contractors, ensuring adherence to all company policies, procedures, and practices.
2. Manage activities on site, ensuring the highest standards of Health and Safety are maintained. Organize and coordinate site resources to optimize effectiveness.
3. Undertake inductions for all employees and sub-contractors, followed by toolbox talks.
4. Induct all employees in the United Way of working, ensuring contract delivery processes are followed and integrated into daily routines.
5. Ensure all project-related filing and administration comply with United Way IMS and the Project Filing Guide.
6. Identify, review, and implement the client’s critical success factors, taking corrective actions as necessary.
7. Ensure quality and programme standards are met, conducting regular reviews to monitor progress and address issues.
8. Review and coordinate contract drawings and specifications for all work sections.
9. Maintain records related to requests for information, verbal instructions, delays, and disruptions, in collaboration with the commercial team.
10. Identify and requisition site equipment, plant, and materials.
11. Communicate regularly with Line Manager about site progress and issues impacting the contract schedule. Record weekly progress.
12. Create short-term programmes for trades to meet main programme deadlines.
13. Chair or attend weekly subcontractor progress and planning meetings, recording minutes.
14. Maintain high-quality daily records of site activities.
15. Supervise the implementation of safety plans, method statements, risk assessments, ensuring compliance and effectiveness.
16. Work collaboratively with internal and external departments to ensure smooth site operations and timely issue resolution.
17. Ensure all operatives and subcontractors wear appropriate PPE at all times.
18. Ensure all operatives and subcontractors are trained to operate relevant plant and equipment.
19. Understand and fully grasp the contract terms, conditions, and obligations.
20. Work closely with the commercial team to monitor the financial status of the contract and define scopes for subcontract packages.
21. Review day work sheets with site QS before signing.
22. Demonstrate strong customer focus and support community initiatives and corporate social responsibility.
23. Issue quality control notices to subcontractors promptly.
24. Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* Experience in Social Housing and Decarb projects (ESSENTIAL)
* SMSTS certificate
* First Aid at Work
* Temporary Works Certificate (desirable)
* Fire Marshall certificate (desirable)
* Relevant construction-related Level 4 or above qualification (HNC/NVQ)
* Appropriate CSCS Managers card
* Valid driving license
* Membership or working towards MCIOB or RICS (desirable)
