Job Description:
We are seeking for a Band 7 CAMHS Practitioner/Social Worker/Community Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive mental health assessments, treatment planning, and interventions to children and young people within a community setting, working collaboratively with families and other professionals within a multi-disciplinary team, while demonstrating advanced clinical skills and managing a complex caseload, all under the guidance of senior clinicians; key duties include conducting detailed assessments, developing individualized care plans, delivering evidence-based therapies, coordinating care with other agencies, and actively promoting child safeguarding concerns.
Key responsibilities:
* Comprehensive assessments:Conduct thorough mental health assessments of children and young people, including presenting symptoms, developmental history, family dynamics, and social context.
* Care planning:Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, utilizing evidence-based practices and considering the needs of the child, family, and wider support network.
* Therapeutic interventions:Deliver a range of therapeutic interventions, including individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, and psychoeducation sessions, tailored to the specific needs of each child and family.
* Case management:Manage a complex caseload, prioritizing needs, coordinating care with other professionals, and ensuring timely follow-up appointments.
* Collaboration:Work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, other CAMHS practitioners, social workers, and education professionals, to provide holistic care.
* Safeguarding:Actively identify and respond to potential safeguarding concerns, reporting any suspected abuse or neglect according to established procedures.
* Community engagement:Build relationships with local agencies and community services to facilitate access to support and promote mental health awareness.
* Clinical supervision:Participate in regular clinical supervision to maintain professional development and reflect on practice.
Required skills and qualifications:
* Professional registration:Relevant professional registration with the appropriate regulatory body (e.g., Nursing and Midwifery Council for nurses)
* Postgraduate qualification:A postgraduate qualification in child and adolescent mental health, such as a diploma or masters in CAMHS
* Clinical experience:Proven experience working with children and young people with a range of mental health needs in a clinical setting
* Therapeutic skills:Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic interventions for children and young people (e.g., cognitive behavioral therapy, systemic therapy)
