A day in the life:
You will become an integral part of our residents' home through daily interaction, not just at mealtimes but throughout your working day. Our aim is to ensure the wonderful world of food is accessible to all, including those with eating, drinking, and swallowing difficulties. The social aspect of dining and the nutritious content of meals are fundamental to the health and wellbeing of residents in our care settings.
Your role involves preparing and cooking food, supervising the onsite catering team, and ensuring the delivery of catering services in the absence of the Cook Manager.
The onsite care team will provide essential information about residents using a detailed catering handover sheet to support a person-centred approach.
Our central team will assist with managing food safety, health and safety, and food allergens, while our dedicated menu, promotions, and compliance teams will provide menu cycles, nutritional info, IDDSI menus, and promotional posters, allowing you to focus on food preparation.
An electronic tablet will give you access to our kitchen management system and serve as a communication tool, providing updates and reducing paperwork.
What are we looking for from you?
You should have previous experience working in a busy kitchen environment, with an organized approach and a good understanding of the food industry, ideally with knowledge of textured modified diets (IDDSI) and working within a set budget.
A passion for delivering excellent customer service is essential, along with strong communication skills and an adaptable work approach.
We are also looking for individuals passionate about supporting others and sharing our core values:
* We care completely.
* We collaborate proactively.
* We act with integrity.
* We pursue better.
* We make it happen.
