Overview
HR Officer - Maternity cover at CJ Lang & Son Limited is a full-time role based at CJ Lang Head Office in Dundee. The position is to cover maternity leave for approximately 7 months (late October 2025 – June 2026).
What You'll Be Doing
* You will be the first point of contact and responsible for dealing with day-to-day queries from colleagues and external parties.
* Provide HR support on a variety of employee relations cases including investigations, disciplinary matters, probation extension, absence management, flexible working, etc.
* Monitor and advise on short-term absence, AWOL, and long-term absence cases.
* General administration: letter writing, managing the HR email inbox, electronic filing, maintaining HR system records, scanning, photocopying, meeting planning, note taking.
* Record test purchase audit results and coordinate next steps following any failures.
* Support with maternity and paternity leave requests.
* Monitor and oversee right-to-work data for colleagues on visas.
* Provide reports on leaver data, holiday, absence rates and other HR activity reports.
* Provide ad hoc recruitment support as required.
* Travel to stores as needed to take notes and provide HR support at meetings.
* Support HR and management on projects and initiatives.
The Ideal Candidate
* Previous experience in a similar HR role (HR Admin, coordinator, officer).
* Strong IT skills with good working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong organisation and planning abilities with great attention to detail.
* Ability to build working relationships with internal and external customers.
* Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
* Full driving licence.
