A fast-scaling, AI-enabled technology business is hiring its first HR Business Partner to build and shape the people function from the ground up.
This is not a traditional HR role. This is a hands-on, high-impact position for someone who wants to own people strategy end to end across a business growing through acquisition, integration and rapid scale.
You will work closely with the CEO and leadership team, playing a key role in how the business hires, integrates and builds a high-performance culture.
Role: HR Business Partner
Salary: £50,000 to £60,000 (Birmingham) or £55,000 to £65,000 (London)
Location: Birmingham or London, with travel to other UK sites
What you’ll be doing:
* Own the full people function across a growing, multi-site business
* Lead people integration across acquisitions, ensuring smooth onboarding and cultural alignment
* Build and improve hiring processes to attract and secure high-quality talent quickly
* Partner with leadership on organisational design, structure and scaling plans
* Develop performance management frameworks that are clear, effective and commercially aligned
* Manage employee relations, including TUPE, case management and complex scenarios
* Create practical, scalable HR processes without over-engineering
* Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, including the CEO
What you’ll need:
* CIPD Level 5 minimum or equivalent experience
* 5 to 8 years’ experience within HR, ideally in fast-growth, multi-site or acquisition-led environments
* Proven experience with TUPE, employee relations and integration projects
* Experience building or shaping HR processes from scratch
* Confidence working directly with senior leadership and challenging where needed
* Ability to operate at pace and bring structure to ambiguity
* A pragmatic, hands-on approach rather than a policy-led mindset
* Interest in how technology and AI can shape people operations
What’s on offer:
* Salary up to £65,000 depending on location
* A true first HR hire role with full ownership
* Direct exposure to CEO and leadership team
* Opportunity to shape people strategy in a high-growth business
* A role suited to someone who wants impact, not maintenance
This role would suit someone who has been the first or early HR hire in a growing business, enjoys building from scratch and is comfortable operating across both strategy and hands-on delivery.
