We are looking to strengthen our Construction team with a Temporary Works Co-ordinator, site based at Wanlip STW.

Job summary

The Temporary Works Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the proper and safe management of all temporary works on a construction project. The TWC acts as the main point of contact between designers, supervisors, and the site team to ensure all temporary structures are correctly planned, designed, installed, inspected, and dismantled in line with the required procedures and standards.

Key responsibilities
1. Coordinate the temporary works process: Act as the single point of control for all temporary works activities across the site.
2. Design and planning: Assess and identify the temporary works required for a project, including, formwork (double sided to 8m height), excavation support, pipework pressure testing, crane bases, piling mats and sheet piled cofferdams Develop and review design briefs in consultation with the project/site team. Ensure all temporary works designs are prepared, checked, and approved by competent personnel.
3. Communication and liaison: Serve as the primary link between temporary works designers, contractors, and site management. Communicate design intent, safety protocols, and any necessary changes to all relevant stakeholders.
4. Management and supervision: Maintain and update the Temporary Works Register, tracking progress from design through to dismantling. Issue formal permissions, such as a "Permit to Load" or "Permit to remove," after all necessary checks are completed.
5. Compliance and documentation: Ensure full compliance with industry standards, such as BS 5975(2019), and all relevant legislation, including CDM 2015. Conduct risk assessments and produce method statements for all temporary works. Keep accurate records of all designs, inspections, and approvals for the project's Health and Safety File.
6. Safety leadership: Provide briefings to site personnel on temporary works procedures and risks. Have the authority to stop work if it is deemed unsafe or not in compliance with approved procedures.
