Founded by two brothers with a view to empower educators with technology in order to help students achieve life-changing success, we are headquartered in London and have grown to a 40 strong team split across sales, marketing, tech and operations. We have won numerous awards including British Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Forbes 30 under 30 and best Edtech company.
We work predominantly in a B2C capacity and connect students and/or their parents with professional private tutors to help them get the results they need to progress in life. We also have a small number of B2B clients including the University of Cambridge, Oxford and Imperial College London among others.
We are looking for a Front-End Developer to help improve our online whiteboard Bitpaper, which is used by thousands of teachers and students to deliver online classes.
You will work closely with a cross-product team to deliver visually appealing, highly functional, and a performance-optimised app that delights our users.
Role:
We are looking for an experienced front-end developer, who enjoys building user-centric browser apps, to help develop our online whiteboard Bitpaper (www.bitpaper.io).
The ideal candidate would help develop new front end-features of the whiteboard itself, which is used by hundreds of thousands of teachers and students, as well as contribute to and maintain the existing code base. You will be working in a wider tech team of seven people and be based in our Canary wharf office in London.
Essential Requirements:
* 2 + years of experience in front-end development.
* Canvas and SVG
* Javascript/typescript
* React and similar frameworks like Next.js
* Git for version control
* Strong grasp of the English language with the ability to articulate clearly and concisely.
Desirable Skills:
* NestJS
* RESTful APIs
* Databases
* DevOps
* Graduate degree with 2:1 or equivalent.
Soft Skills:
* Good cultural fit (work hard/play nice/enjoy success).
* Self-starter/driven.
* Good communication skills.
* Good attention to detail.
* Commercial awareness.
