Our client is a well-established, family-run civil engineering and groundworks subcontractor delivering projects for major contractors across the South East, London and the Midlands. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Site Manager - Civils and Infrastructure specialist to support the operational delivery of multiple projects or one larger scheme.
This is a varied role offering a blend of site and office-based responsibilities, with strong long-term progression opportunities.
Role Overview
The Site Agent will assist with the operational management and coordination of groundworks and civil engineering projects, ensuring delivery to programme, budget and quality standards while maintaining a strong focus on health and safety.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assisting in overseeing health, safety and quality standards across sites
2. Preparing and reviewing RAMS and Works Package Plans
3. Producing Lift Plans where required
4. Developing and managing project programmes and short-term programmes
5. Resource planning and management
6. Managing quality processes including Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and Work Inspection Sheets
7. Carrying out site measurements
8. Attending progress and programme meetings
9. Working closely with the commercial team
10. Assisting with tender submissions
11. Maintaining accurate project records
12. General project administration duties
Projects are currently located in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Oxfordshire, Essex, Berkshire and Northamptonshire, with the head office based in Hemel Hempstead.
Requirements for the Site Manager - Civils and Infrastructure specialist
13. Minimum 5+ years' experience within the civil engineering sector
14. Strong site-based experience
15. Experience working for a contractor or subcontractor
16. Relevant CSCS Card
17. SMSTS or SSSTS (training can be provided if required)
18. Construction-related degree or equivalent qualification
19. Full clean driving licence
20. Ability to produce and update programmes using MS Project (or similar)
21. Strong written and verbal communication skills
22. Good people management and organisational ability
23. Strong commercial awareness
24. Willingness to travel between projects and head office

25. Salary £55,000 - £65,000 per annum (negotiable depending on experience)
