We are now offering an exciting opportunity to join our team as a HR Manager. This is a hands-on, business-facing advisory role where you'll partner closely with managers, coach leaders, and ensure fair, consistent and legally compliant HR practices. You'll be a trusted point of contact across the business, building strong relationships and developing a deep understanding of operational priorities.
Key responsibilities:
* Partner with managers to attract and retain high-quality talent, ensuring a positive and engaging onboarding experience.
* Support the development and delivery of competitive reward and benefits approaches aligned to market and business needs.
* Provide pragmatic, commercially balanced advice on conduct, capability, grievance and absence matters, leading investigations where required.
* Champion a performance-focused culture by supporting goal setting, regular reviews and development planning.
* Identify development needs, enable learning initiatives and support succession planning activities.
* Proactively manage absence cases, coordinate Occupational Health referrals and promote wellbeing initiatives.
* Contribute to and support HR projects that enhance processes, employee experience and business performance.
* Act as a key user of our HR system (UKG Ready), ensuring data accuracy, compliance and insightful reporting.
* A confident HR generalist with solid experience advising managers across the full employee lifecycle.
* Strong knowledge of TUPE, service provision changes and change management practices.
* Ideally CIPD Level 5 qualified (or working towards) with experience in a logistics or operational environment.
* Comfortable working across functions, building inclusive partnerships and breaking down silos.
* Commercially aware, able to balance people needs with business outcomes.
* Calm, credible and down-to-earth, with strong coaching skills and sound judgement.
* Up to date with employment legislation and able to translate legal insight into practical, business-focused advice.
This is a full-time role (Monday–Friday, 08:30–17:00), based at our HQ in Foston, with occasional travel to our sites in Marchington and Carlisle.
