Balfour Beatty is seeking a dynamic
Site Manager to contribute to our Net Zero Teesside (NZT) project based at our site in Redcar and Cleveland.
What you'll be doing
Reporting to Lead Construction Manager. Role is for assistant site management
of Envelope package(s) for cladding and roofing of large shelters. Package includes installation of manufactured systems, doors, roller shutters and roof lights.
Specific Responsibilities
* Assisting with coordinating logistics elements of package with wider site teams. Day to day deliveries and traffic movements to work areas
* Coordinating with other construction/project managers to ensure adjacent works coordinated – attendance at daily SIC/DABS meetings and attendance each morning at subcontractor daily briefings
* Being involved in subcontractor dynamic risk assessments each day prior to works commencing
* Assisting other Managers in ensuring SIMOPS within work areas is managed effectively on site considering package has lots of working at height
* Daily progress reporting (site diary). Ensuring subcontractor daily reporting is accurate to mitigate commercial risk of disallowed costs
* Assisting in RAMS appraisals and RAMS implementation for works
* Ensuring plant checks and permits are in place daily prior to works commencing and permits closed out as necessary
* Ensuring any elements of change on site are fed upline to Lead Construction Manager
* The role will be primarily site based – envisaged something like 80:20 split (site:office)
* Assisting Lead BB Manager with site quality inspections and handovers including use of Client EasyPlant system to ensure quality documentation collated throughout build to ensure seamless handover at completion.
* Use of EasyPlant will be a key elements of the job to Assisting in record keeping to ensure installation records prior to elements being closed up
* Ensuring snags/defects allocated to correct subcontractors and closed out in a timely manner
* Ensure product installed in accordance with best practice to achieve Right First Time approach
* Checking for quality installation of product in accordance with manufacturers guidelines and design drawings
* Daily appraisal of work areas on site including weekly H&S inspections
* Following successful delivery of envelope packages then moving into other works packages as per site demands
Who we're looking for
* Experience of managing subcontracted envelope (cladding or roofing) construction packages desirable
* Experience working on large scale construction project desirable
* Professionally qualified person either via BSc or NVQ route or working towards
* SMSTS (preferable) or SSSTS
* CSCS
