About the Role This is a key role within the business – you’ll be the go-to person for anything people-related. It’s important that colleagues feel comfortable approaching you, and that you’re able to build strong working relationships across all levels. You’ll be involved in everything from day-to-day HR support to shaping the longer-term people strategy. There’s real variety in the role and plenty of opportunity to get stuck in. Main Responsibilities Partnering with the Senior Leadership Team to provide strategic HR input, contribute to business planning, and lead workforce strategy across the business Delivering a proactive and hands-on HR service, managing day-to-day operations across multiple departments, and ensuring compliance with UK employment law and ethical standards (e.g. Sedex/SMETA) Leading on all employee relations matters, including absence management, performance, disciplinary and grievance issues, and supporting employee wellbeing Coaching and supporting managers and supervisors on all aspects of people management, performance, development, and team engagement Overseeing recruitment, training and development, reward and recognition, and the management of seasonal and agency workers, ensuring all policies and procedures are legally compliant and effectively implemented. Required CIPD Level 5 A background in fresh produce, food manufacturing, farming or similar environments Confidence working in a fast-moving, operational setting Familiarity with GLAA regulations, working time and driver hours, or SMETA/SEDEX standards A people-focused approach – approachable, fair, and supportive.
