Be part of a team where passion meets purpose, as we work together where the challenge is greatest to change the lives and build the futures of children and young people.

About This Role

Are you ready to contribute to a mission that makes a difference in the lives of children and young people? We are excited to share an opportunity to join our People team as People Officer - Policy and Process. In this pivotal role, you will support the Head of People Policy and Systems in delivering efficient, effective, and compliant people policies, processes and systems across our Trust.

This role combines administrative precision, data management, and a proactive approach to policy and process improvement.

You will contribute to maintaining and enhancing People policies, supporting process reviews, engaging with schools and the central team, to ensure effective use of HR Information Systems. This is an ideal role for someone who is detail orientated and has experience within application and creation of People Policies and systems. The successful candidate must be comfortable working with HR systems, policies, and data.

This role is a full time, all year-round, home-based role with travel to our Birmingham office and schools as required.

* The opportunity to build on the legacy of those who came before – being part of one of the longest standing Trusts, created with the sole purpose of enabling children and young people to thrive
* Working for a Trust nationally recognised for its impact on disadvantaged children – a rewarding, stimulating career where staff are challenged to be the best they can be, for the pupils we are proud to serve
* Being part of a team and community where you belong – receiving bespoke and holistic support from a well-resourced and ambitious network of experts and professionals that work at the heart of communities
* A supportive environment to grow your career – an extensive professional development programme, alongside flexible working arrangements and generous benefits

About You

We are looking for a candidate with a solid understanding of HR processes such as data management, reporting, and policy implementation. The successful candidate will also have experience working with HR Information Systems (HRIS) or similar platforms. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, and proactive with a proven ability to support process improvements and implement best practices to ensure our HR operations are efficient and effective.

Experience within the public sector is key, as it provides valuable insight into the demands and expectations of this environment. Ideally you will have knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice and experience in a multi-academy trust setting. Familiarity with the Green Book and Burgundy Book frameworks, and their application within education settings, would be a significant advantage, enabling the candidate to effectively navigate the unique challenges of HR in education.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high levels of data accuracy. Exceptional organisational skills are essential, as the role requires managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines effectively. Excellent communication skills are also critical, with the ability to explain policy information and technical system details clearly and concisely to a range of stakeholders.

If you are passionate about making a difference and are ready to work in a challenging yet rewarding environment, we would love to hear from you.
