About the role:
This leadership role involves managing the site effectively by leading, motivating, and developing the team to ensure operations align with the company's core values and principles.
Participate in developing and implementing warehouse and ground operations strategies to ensure smooth movement and storage, meeting cost, quality, customer, and market-specific requirements in line with business strategy, corporate guidelines, and policies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Define warehouse and manual handling strategies in line with business needs, guidelines, and policies.
2. Develop and implement warehouse and manual handling plans, budgets, and measures.
3. Ensure safety and security measures are in place to operate, maintain, and store goods and equipment safely.
4. Monitor site and personnel performance, including managing performance processes.
5. Provide financial forecasting for the site.
6. Manage monthly payroll reports to ensure accurate salary payments and address anomalies.
7. Review operational performance, data, and facilities to optimize distribution and transportation patterns.
8. Assess the effectiveness of procedures, space utilization, and equipment protection, recommending improvements.
9. Identify opportunities and introduce best practices to improve efficiency, speed, and reduce costs in warehouse and manual handling methods.
10. Build strong, trusting relationships with business leaders across DHL.
11. Manage experienced professionals exercising autonomy in their roles.
The ideal candidate will have:
We seek a candidate with excellent communication and leadership skills, capable of motivating and developing the site within our network. Ideally, the candidate will hold a CPC qualification in transport and logistics and demonstrate:
* Previous managerial experience in a warehouse environment
* Experience in the parcel industry (advantageous)
* Experience in budget control
* Strong leadership skills
* Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
