Automation DeveloperLocation: GloucestershireContract Type: ContractAbout the RoleGuidant Global is supporting our client in recruiting a talented Automation Developer to design, develop, and optimise automation solutions that streamline business processes and enhance operational efficiency. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong scripting skills and an interest in rule engines, workflow automation, and modern integration technologies.You'll work closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders, identifying process inefficiencies and turning them into scalable, automated solutions that add real value across the organisation.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, deploy, and maintain automation solutions and applications using Python, JavaScript, and relevant automation toolsIdentify automation opportunities by analysing existing workflows and business processesWork with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective technical solutionsImplement automation using Power Automate, scripting, and Microsoft ecosystem integrationsEnsure automation solutions integrate smoothly with enterprise applicationsTroubleshoot, enhance, and optimise workflows for performance, reliability, and scalabilityMaintain accurate documentation for scripts, workflows, and automation componentsCommunicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiencesSupport adoption and continual improvement of automation best practicesEssential Skills & ExperienceStrong knowledge of JavaScript (particularly for rules engine API development)Understanding of SQL for database queriesExperience working with JSON data structuresRudimentary knowledge of Java, particularly for data type definitions within ODM toolsUnderstanding of process mapping, workflow analysis, and automation methodologiesAbility to learn and adopt tools such as ODM and BAW (training available)Desirable SkillsExperience with Python (for script maintenance)Working knowledge of CI/CD practicesFamiliarity with automation platforms such as Power AutomateUnderstanding of enterprise integration principlesWho We're Looking ForSomeone who is:Analytical, structured, and able to identify automation opportunitiesA strong communicator who can work confidently with stakeholders at all levelsCurious, proactive, and eager to learn new tools and methodsCollaborative, detail-oriented, and committed to qualityWhy Join Through Guidant Global?We believe in a people-first recruitment experience, supporting you at every stage and matching you with opportunities where you can thrive.
