The role is site based and will involve lodging away from home during the week (lodging allowance paid) previous experience of T & D, Battery Storage, anaerobic digestion and renewable energy would be an advantage but not essential for the right person.
Main Purpose of Job
Responsible for all aspects of production on site. Ensuring that the contract is carried out in accordance with the company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Policies and Procedures. To deliver the project within the tendered cost and programme duration.

Responsibilities
1. Planning and Cost Control Considering and checking information received at Handover from Estimating, and together with the Contracts Manager, determining the sequence and methods of constructing the works. Forecasting the labour, plant and material requirements to ensure the work is undertaken within the tender allowances.
2. Safety, Environment & Sustainability Ensuring that all work is undertaken with full regard for the safety of all personnel within the site, and for the general public. Implementing the Company Health and Safety, Environmental & Sustainability Polices with respect to site activities, and to maintain and operate the Construction Phase Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Plan on site. To include creation and update of method statements, risk assessments and standard work permits. Ensure Quality documentation / IMS forms are completed and signed off for incorporation into the H&S file / Inspection & Test Plan (ITP).
3. Production Establishing the site and ensuring that the works are accurately set out and constructed in accordance with the contract documentation liaison with the site engineer to ensure RFIs/TQs are raised against drawing / specification / scope anomalies, omissions, inconsistences or incorrect information. Co-ordinating labour, plant, sub-contractors, and supplies of materials to ensure that production is completed within planned cost and duration.
* Labour Organising and controlling site labour force. Maintaining satisfactory discipline on site. Ensuring that labour is employed only in accordance with Company procedures.
* Plant Ensuring plant and equipment are used effectively, and that costs are within budgeted limits. Checking that plant and equipment are in good condition and properly maintained.
* Sub-Contractors Co-ordinating and utilising effectively all sub-contractors on site, including monitoring and controlling quality, progress and safety
* Materials Ensuring that materials are received, checked, handled, stored and installed with the minimum of damage and waste.
4. Financial Control
* Assisting QS Department to obtain accurate valuations of work completed.
* Ensuring all variations and changes are recorded in writing.
* Ensuring all Dayworks are properly recorded in a timely manner.
* Assisting Contracts/Accounts Departments to resolve invoice queries promptly
5. Site Control
* Completing and processing site administration documents.
* Reviewing and updating site programme 3 week look ahead and as built updates.
* Implementing the Company Integrated Management System relevant to site operations.
6. Personnel
* Ensuring that site staff and operatives are competent to undertake the duties required of them.
* Instigating and maintaining high standards of motivation and morale, and ensuring good industrial relations.
7. Public Relations
* Representing the Company on site and maintaining good relations with the Client (and his representatives), sub-contractors, suppliers, statutory undertakers, and the general public.
8. Commercial
* Assisting at all times with the promotion of additional construction work for the Company, and ensuring that all transactions are carried out in a proper and professional manner. Producing contemporary records (record vouchers) to provide and verify any changes, obstacles, events which occur during the site works.
9. Communications
* Keeping staff and operatives informed of all matters affecting the efficient operation of the site. Advising the Contracts Manager and Quantity Surveyor of any significant developments that affect the regular progress of the works.

Items of capital expenditure. Recruitment of labour without prior authorisation by the Contracts Manager. Placing of Orders.
