Working hours: 20 hours per week (9.00am - 1.00pm Monday to Friday however some flexibility may be required) Interview Date: 6th January 2026 The Salvation Army, Southport operates a busy community coffee shop from Monday to Friday. It plays a major role in the weekly mission activities of the church, bringing together individuals, offering company and good food. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can take the lead in preparing good quality food and who wants to be part of a vibrant team. Key Responsibilities: The post-holder will plan and manage stock for all food required to make a healthy and nutritious cost-effective menu for the service, considering any nutritional and dietary requirements and customer opinion. They will also ensure that the current health and safety and environmental health and hygiene standards and other appropriate regulations and procedures are maintained within the catering facility (e.g. BFH / COSHH) and food storage is carried out to approved British standards and clean and close down the kitchen after service. The successful candidate(s) will have: Good knowledge and experience in preparing and serving food in a commercial kitchen environment. The ability to influence others and develop effective working relationships with colleagues, programme participants and external stakeholders. The ability to supervise the work of Volunteers and provide training where necessary in collaboration with the Manager.
