Freelance Site Manager – Solar Installation Project (Oxford)

Rhino Recruitment is working on behalf of a valued client to appoint an experienced Site Manager for an upcoming solar installation project based at a major automotive manufacturing facility in Oxford.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented Site Manager to take a lead role in overseeing site activity, quality assurance, and coordination of subcontractors on a technically straightforward but high-profile project.
The Role
* Oversee site operations for a solar panel installation project
* Manage and coordinate subcontracted installation teams
* Ensure all works are carried out to required quality standards
* Conduct inspections and maintain QA records
* Use digital platforms for reporting and project tracking (Mondaydotcom / BIM360)
* Act as the senior on-site representative for the client
* Liaise with stakeholders and ensure smooth day-to-day site operations
Requirements
* Valid SMSTS certification (essential)
* Proven experience in a Site Manager or similar role
* Strong background in QA and inspection processes
* Comfortable using digital systems and reporting tools
* Experience in solar, M&E, or roofing projects (desirable)
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Ability to manage subcontractors and maintain high standards on site
