The Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) Programme is a national, licensed, evidence based, early intervention programme for first time mothers up to the age of 25, with priority to those aged 19 or under. It offers intensive and structured home visiting, delivered by specially trained nurses, from early pregnancy until the child is 2 years old.


NHS Tayside is looking for an excellent individual to provide compassionate care, Leadership and Management to the Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) service.

You must have a passion for the FNP philosophy and its strength-based approach.


This post offers the right individual a great opportunity to influence and lead dynamic and child-centred services as well as contribute to the ongoing success and development of services within the Women Children and Families Division.


You will be one of 4 Supervisors, responsible for leading and managing the work of the family nurses, data managers and administration team. This includes providing in depth clinical, management and child protection supervision to the family nurses, maintaining the integrity of the programme, taking responsibility for quality assurance and improvement in line with the licence requirements, overseeing recruitment of eligible pregnant young women, building local relationships and facilitating continual learning and improvement. In addition, the post holder will also hold a small caseload of families to whom they deliver the programme.

The role combines clinical practice, strategic leadership, management, supervisory and a teaching role.

Applicants should have post registration experience of working with children and/or young people in their homes. Experience of general community nursing/and or midwifery home visiting including the skills to work within the clinical methods of a structured home visiting programme


The post holder will be a first level Registered Nurse or Midwife with current UK NMC registration, educated to Degree level or equivalent with evidence of Masters level education.

Please Note:

The successful applicant will be required to undertake all mandatory training to become a Family Nurse Supervisor and where applicable also the Family Nurse mandatory training and be available to:

* Attend all supervisor training events including 2-night residential 17th-19th February 2026.
* Where applicable attend all Family Nurse training events including 4-night residential training on 9th to 13th March 2026


Although you will have a base this post requires the ability to travel across Tayside to other sites as an essential part of your role. Your hours of work will be 37 per week, Monday to Friday between 0830 and 17.00.
