Data Architect La Fosse have partnered with a cutting-edge research body to recruit a Data Architect. You'd be joining at a pivotal time as the current architecture maturity level is low, so there's a really opportunity to help to build this up and design the new modern data platform. You'll work with cross-functional teams to define data models, standards, and architecture to support advanced analytics, AI-driven diagnostics, and interoperability across systems. This role is ideal for someone passionate about applying data architecture to real-world health and life sciences challenges. Key Responsibilities Define and deliver scalable data architectures, standards, and models Translate complex requirements into robust design for research and operational use Support data engineering teams with guidance, mentoring, and hands-on collaboration Ensure data governance, quality, and compliance (including regulated environments) Produce architecture artefacts and ensure alignment via governance processes Contribute to a library of best practices, technical standards, and patterns Optimise data flows, lifecycle, and integration across platforms Experience Required Proven experience designing modern data platforms Strong understanding of data governance, cataloguing, and data lifecycle Experience with cloud data platforms Agile delivery experience and strong stakeholder communication Experience architecting data in research or regulated healthcare settings This is a hybrid role, requiring 3 days per week on site at the client's Oxford HQ.
