Job Title: Senior Quality Manager Contract : Permanent Salary: £84,857 - £106,071 Location : Peterlee, County Durham Hours : Full-Time – 36.50 Travel: Up to 5% Hiring Manager: Jason Maw About Caterpillar Peterlee Caterpillar Peterlee is the worldwide source of Cat Articulated Trucks, currently producing an 8-model range used in many industries including mining, construction and aggregates. The facility's manufacturing activities use the latest computer analysis techniques, robotic technology and automated dump body paint plant. Machines from the site are shipped to customers around the world. The Opportunity This role leads end to end quality for the entire Articulated Truck product line at Caterpillar Peterlee with responsibility for ensuring that products, processes, and services meet customer and regulatory requirements. Primary Roles/Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To Develop, implement, monitor, and optimize quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with ISO standards, industry regulations, and internal policies. Design and maintain systems to ensure products and services meet regulatory and customer requirements. Manage supplier quality and customer relationships, including post-sale support for up to two months. Gather and interpret client requirements, define product/service specifications, and ensure expectations are met to drive customer satisfaction. Lead internal and external audits, analyze deviations, and implement corrective actions. Track KPIs, analyze data, and report on quality performance and outcomes. Drive continuous improvement programs to enhance efficiency, reduce defects, and optimize processes. Collaborate with operations, engineering, and product support teams to resolve issues and improve overall customer experience. Recruit, develop, and lead staff to achieve organizational goals and embed a strong quality culture. Oversee calibration and maintenance of equipment across the facility. Manage financial responsibility for the full Quality function. Support product and process development initiatives across the facility. Degree Requirement Degree or equivalent experience desired Skills, Experience & Qualifications You Will Have Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Level Extensive Knowledge: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyse situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment. Influencing: Level Extensive Knowledge Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; Ability to impact decisions within and outside own organisation Planning and organising: Level Extensive Experience: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way. Problem Solving: Level Extensive Experience: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations. Quality Management Systems (QMS): Level Working Knowledge: Knowledge of Quality Management System's (QMS) functions, features, and capabilities; ability to design, implement, test, and maintain Quality Management Systems to consistently meet customer requirements and regulatory compliances. Relationship Management: Level Extensive Knowledge Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors and peers. Strategic Thinking: Level Extensive Experience: Knowledge of the importance of "big picture" thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization. Top Candidates Will Have Extensive experience in Quality Management in a Heavy Manufacturing Environment and a proven deep understanding of Large manufactured machinery, and manufacturing processes Supplier & Customer Quality Management & Development Experience. Prior Six-Sigma Experience Knowledge of industry regulatory compliance relating to emissions & noise directive Experience in Lean Manufacturing with a focus on Built in Quality. Strong collaboration skills across multiple teams, roles, and cultures in a matrix organization, extensive experience working with global teams. Ability to work effectively across hierarchical levels and geographies. Proven track record in leading and developing high-performing teams, with a demonstrated ability to manage and grow talent effectively with focus and knowledge on Health and Safety.
