Job Role: IBM RPG Developer
Location: Birmingham, Aston – 5 days a week in the office

Key Technical Experience Needed: SQL, RPG, AS400, RPG400, i-Series, iSeries, Application Development, IBM Development, Legacy, RPGLE, IBMi, Consultancy, Manufacturing, Retail, Agile .NET, C#
Remuneration: Up to £60,000 + bonus + comprehensive benefits package

Role and Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and maintain applications using IBM RPG programming language
* Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
* Troubleshoot and debug applications, identifying and resolving issues to ensure optimal performance
* Write efficient and clean code while adhering to coding standards and best practices
* Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements to continuously enhance your skills and contribute fresh ideas to the team
* Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers
* Document code, processes, and specifications for future reference
Technical Experience Requirements:
* Proven experience as an RPG Developer, with a strong portfolio of completed projects
* Proficiency in RPG IV programming language and related tools
* Familiarity with IBM iSeries (AS/400) platform and associated technologies
* Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) principles
* Problem‑solving skills and a keen attention to detail
* Effective communication and teamwork abilities
Any experience with .Net/C# or EDI based applications will be advantageous.
