Senior Data Architect (Contract)
Overview
Experienced Data Architect needed to support and evolve enterprise data architecture across global platforms. The role focuses on building scalable, compliant, and high-performing data environments aligned with business strategy within a pharmaceutical environment.
This is a 6 month contract, hybrid or remote flexibility (depending on location) with a chance of extension.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and enhance enterprise data architecture
* Analyse and optimise data structures and performance
* Work with global data models to map and transform data
* Design solutions to accelerate data processing (e.g. automation, ML)
* Support database design, requirements, and technical specs
* Contribute to data governance and compliance
* Collaborate with product and engineering teams
* Provide technical guidance and mentor junior staff
Requirements
* Degree in a relevant field
* Strong experience in data architecture and modelling
* Experience with data modelling tools (e.g. ERwin)
* Solid SQL skills
* Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL, MDM, and BI
* Strong communication and stakeholder management
Preferred
* Experience with big data tools (e.g. Hadoop, Databricks, Snowflake)
* Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, Java/Scala
* Knowledge of semantic data models or ontologies
* Background in healthcare or life sciences
