Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a cafe cook. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen and delivering high-quality meals to our customers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in food preparation and cooking, with a commitment to maintaining exceptional standards of food safety and hygiene. A good sense of humour will help as will being able to work under pressure and be friendly and attentive to customers and staff. A minimum of 2 years working in a similar environment and understanding how working in a busy cook to order kitchen is essential.
Duties
* Prepare ingredients for cooking
* Cook and present meals according to menu
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
* Monitor food stock levels and assist in inventory management.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
* Provide excellent service during meal times, assisting with serving when necessary.
* Pot washing/cleaning as you go and at the end of each shift.
Experience
* Previous experience in a kitchen environment is essential, preferably within a busy cafe setting.
* Familiarity with food safety practices and regulations is highly desirable.
* Experience in meal preparation for large groups or events is an advantage.
Flexibility is appreciated as there could be more hours at busier times of the year (eg. Christmas, summer holidays or covering staff holidays/illness).
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £12.50-£13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 14 – 16 per week
