About the Role:
We’re looking for a proactive Midweight Back-End Developer with at least 3 years of hands-on experience to help support and maintain the websites we develop.
You’ll work with our Client Support team daily, with support from the wider Technical team, including our Senior developers.
Our aim is to deliver high-quality code, so it is important to understand best-practice code structure, as well as performance and security.
Key Responsibilities:
* Problem solving skills.
* Write clean, scalable, maintainable code following team conventions and best practices.
* Ensure that tasks are completed on time, to specification, and are performant and secure.
* Participate in regular code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
* Contribute to technical planning, estimation, progress meetings, and standards.
* Stay curious and engaged with new back-end tools and technologies.
Required Skills and Experience:
* 3 years of professional back-end development experience.
* Proficient in writing clean, scalable, and efficient code in C# with an understanding of MVC architecture.
* Experience with Umbraco and Optimizely CMS.
* Familiarity with version control (GIT) and workflows like feature branches and pull requests.
* Experience with profiling and troubleshooting applications.
* Familiarity with the Azure Portal.
* Knowledge of SQL Management Studio, relational databases, and SQL.
* Understanding of security best practices, including OWASP vulnerabilities.
* Knowledge of the blue-green deployment model.
* A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn.
Nice to Have:
* Experience with Azure DevOps.
* Experience with security testing tools.
* Familiarity with Node.js / JavaScript.
Note: The back-end developer may occasionally need to work outside normal office hours.
