Site Manager - Aviation - Civils & Infrastructure (Freelance) £350-£400/day CIS Long-Term Contract Opportunity TRIbuild Solutions are supporting a major aviation infrastructure programme with the appointment of an experienced Freelance Site Manager to lead day-to-day delivery of works within a live airport environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for a safety-driven Site Manager with strong airside experience to deliver complex packages across airfield and critical infrastructure works, operating within strict operational and regulatory controls. Key Responsibilities Site Leadership & Coordination Lead daily site operations for aviation infrastructure and airfield works Deliver site briefings, toolbox talks, and ensure all teams understand the daily plan Coordinate access, permits-to-work, and compliance with airport operational procedures Safety, Compliance & Airfield Standards Ensure all works comply with aviation safety standards, CAA / CAP 168 guidelines, and airside rules Enforce strict adherence to RAMS, health & safety legislation, and site-specific controls Maintain safe working areas within live airfield or high-security operational zones Operational Interface Liaise with Airport Operations, Airfield Control, Engineering teams, and Contractors Coordinate works to minimise disruption to live operations Manage delivery within operational windows (night works, runway closures, stand shutdowns) Respond to operational issues on-site and adjust plans to maintain safety and efficiency Quality Control & Technical Oversight Inspect works to ensure quality meets design specifications and aviation standards Manage QA/QC documentation, as-built records, and reporting Support testing, commissioning, and handover activities Resource & Contractor Management Supervise contractors, labour, plant, and materials on-site Monitor productivity and ensure efficient resource deployment Escalate programme or site issues to the Project Manager where required Progress Tracking & Reporting Maintain accurate site diaries, permits, and daily records Report progress, risks, and issues consistently to the Project Manager Support audits, inspections, and compliance checks Skills & Experience Required Strong experience in airport, airfield, or critical infrastructure environments Knowledge of aviation safety, CAA regulations, and airside operational procedures Proven ability managing site teams and subcontractors in fast-paced environments Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret technical specifications (civil, electrical, AGL, etc.) Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Airside pass / ADP / vehicle permits desirable (or ability to obtain) Contract Details Freelance CIS Contract Stansted Area Long-term aviation infrastructure programme Immediate / Short Notice Start Available To Apply For more information or a confidential discussion, contact: Leon Simmons Operations Director - TRIbuild Solutions
