Overview
Site Manager (Overhead Lines) – Energy Networks, Transmission projects. This is a site-based role with projects across the East Coast, Central Belt, Borders, Glasgow, Ayrshire & Dumfries and Galloway.
Role
As Site Manager within our Transmission business, you will be part of a department responsible for the construction of new build, replacement, refurbishment or other major transmission overhead line projects. You will be the primary on-site representative, providing technical support and advice primarily in relation to overhead line aspects of construction stages for transmission projects.
What You’ll Be Doing
Manage transmission construction projects, including contract management (variations and claims) and monitor contractor programmes to align with the overall project programme. Knowledge and experience in the construction and commissioning of overhead lines transmission projects. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and implement quality assurance and environmental processes on site.
Lead a team in a contractor’s environment with excellent negotiation and influencing skills. Monitor and manage contractor programmes in a proactive way, and ensure adherence to project timelines.
What You’ll Bring
* Significant experience in managing transmission construction projects
* Experience as a Manager delivering the Principal Contractor role and managing multiple contractors
* Knowledge of overhead lines construction, inspection and commissioning activities
* Proficient with IT and software packages such as Microsoft Office
* Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation & CDM 2015 regulations
* First Aid certification
