Maintenance Operative
Annual Salary: £26,338 - £29,959

Job Type: Full-time, 37 hours per weekJoin our dynamic Facilities team at a prestigious university as a Maintenance Operative, where your skills will directly contribute to creating a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for students and staff.
Day-to-day of the role:
Maintenance Tasks: Perform a variety of maintenance tasks including carpentry, building maintenance, minor plumbing repairs, painting & decorating, floor laying, and compliance tasks such as P.A.T. testing, Legionella control, and fire alarm testing. Full training will be provided.
Health and Safety: Ensure all health and safety practices are followed and stay updated with changes in legislation related to the built environment.
Cost Estimates: Assist in preparing cost estimates and other related activities to ensure efficient resource management.
Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation for all works undertaken using online systems.
Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by maintaining effective liaison with university staff, students, and client user departments.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with other teams within Estates and Facilities Services, embracing a "One Team" approach to achieve successful task completion.
Travel and Flexibility: Travel between campuses as required and participate in some weekend and out-of-hours work as requested.Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience in maintenance or a similar role.
Skills in carpentry, plumbing, painting, and general building maintenance.
Strong commitment to health and safety standards.
Excellent organisational and documentation skills.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility to travel between sites and to work variable hours when necessary.Benefits:
