Job Responsibilities and Requirements
Lead and inspire: Produce annually a draft development plan (including costings and financial implications) for school grounds, buildings, equipment related to premises cleaning and maintenance, and furniture to meet curriculum needs and user requirements. Be a member of the Governors Premises Committee to contribute to overall development and financial planning.
Collaborate with agencies: Work closely with LA colleagues, school leaders, and external agencies to ensure compliance and effective operational systems.
Accountability: Prepare and monitor, in consultation with the School Business Manager, the annual maintenance budget. Prepare analyses and reports as required.
Promote inclusion: Demonstrate a commitment to inclusion, ensuring all pupils and staff feel valued and supported.

Experience required: Several years of premises experience in a special school setting; working with pupils with special educational needs in secondary or special schools; working with challenging pupils; maintenance development and planning in educational settings; knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and county policies.
