We’re looking for a Food Technologist to join our Food Services team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a client-facing role where you’ll manage product data, ensure compliance, and support Whitbread’s Force for Good strategy – all while working with a wide range of menus and suppliers. Responsibilities Including, but not limited to: Build strong relationships with stakeholders and provide expert technical advice. Manage allergy, nutritional, and lifestyle data for guests, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Review technical data for new products and improvements to meet Whitbread guidelines. Maintain accurate product specifications and ensure policies, provenance, and quality standards are met. Support audits and compliance with Whitbread’s Force for Good strategy. Review menus and ensure all copy is legal and accurate for the relevant market. Assist with complaints and incident management related to food safety, legality, and quality. Qualifications Degree (or equivalent experience) in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field. Experience in a technical or development role within food manufacturing, retail, or hospitality. Strong knowledge of food labelling legislation and specification management. Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with web-based specification systems. Excellent communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a client-facing role. Occasional UK travel may be required.
