6-month contract initially, mainly remote with a maximum of 1 day per week in Edinburgh. Pay £400‑£450 per day via Umbrella.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and deploy serverless applications using AWS Lambda and related AWS services such as API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, and Step Functions.
* Write efficient, reusable, and maintainable code in languages such as Python or Java.
* Optimize Lambda functions for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
* Implement event-driven architectures and integrate with microservices and third‑party APIs.
* Monitor, troubleshoot, and debug applications using tools like CloudWatch and X-Ray.
* Ensure security, compliance, and best practices in cloud deployments.
* Automate CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployment and version control.
* Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design and deliver high‑quality cloud solutions.
Key Skills & Experience
* Strong expertise in serverless development using AWS Lambda, with proficiency in Python.
* Hands‑on experience with AWS ecosystem and integrations including API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, and designing RESTful APIs and backend services.
* Good understanding of cloud architecture, CI/CD pipelines, security (IAM), and monitoring (CloudWatch) for building scalable and secure solutions.
* Deep understanding of core AWS services: Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, CloudFormation, IAM, CloudWatch, etc.
* Experience with serverless architecture and microservices.
