JobSummary:
To support theimplementation of the Organisation Development and WorkforceStrategy and delivery of the school s HR service level agreement byproviding HR advice and guidance to managers to ensure that all HRpolicies and practices are consistently applied and employmentlegislation adhered to thereby minimising risk in all employmentmatters.
To provideprofessional support and advice to HODs/Service Managers/individual employees and/or Headteachers/Governors on the operationimplementation interpretation and management of HR matters workingto a Human Resource Businesspartner.
To also supportthe HR Managers on specific projects e.g. contribute to policydevelopment or reviews carrying out researchwork.
KeyDuties/Accountabilities:
The HR Officerrole will report to a Business Partner who is allocated to provideStrategic Human Resources support to a Strategic and PerformanceDirector regarding their cluster of organisationservices.
These roleswill rotate so that HR Officers have an opportunity to support eachBusinessPartner.
The totalcouncil workforce is around 6400 including schoolbasedemployees.
Provideprofessional advice to departments and/or schools HODs ManagersHeadteachers (including as required attendance at appropriatemeetings e.g. school DMTs. Advise on HR policies and proceduresterms and conditions of service and employment legislation toensure that employees in all services are managed in a fair andconsistentway.
Contribute tothe delivery of the Organisation Development and Workforce strategyand other plans across the Authority as a member of the HRteam.
Develop andcontribute to organisation workforce initiatives/projects so thatthese are effectively introduced and integrated intoservices.
Advise supportand guide managers and/or Headteachers in relation to serviceemployee relations activities in order that employee involvementand working relationships are optimised and consistent withoperationalefficiency.
EssentialExperienceRequired:
Experience ofmanaging a busy case load in an HR environment in a largeorganisation.
Knowledgeof HR professional issues employeerelations principles underlying sound recruitment and selectionreorganisation organisation designTUPE.
Experience ofworking with and interpreting a range of complex terms andconditions.
EssentialQualificationsRequired:
Graduate/Associate Member ofCIPD or equivalentexperience.
Evidence ofCPD.
